If you’re a sole trader or partnership, the business owners should apply.

For limited companies, all directors are required to apply.

In some cases, we may also ask shareholders who aren’t directors to be part of the application if they play a key role in running the business.

We offer Small Business Loans up to £250,000 on an unsecured basis, supported by a personal guarantee.

In some cases, we may ask for tangible security, depending on the size of the loan and our credit risk assessment.

Please note, Start Up Loans are always unsecured . we do not take security on Start Up Loans.

Every application is different but most Small Business Loans are completed within two weeks while most Start Up Loans are completed within 3 - 8 week.

Each section includes helpful notes to support you as you complete it. Please provide as much information as you can under each section, bullet points are absolutely fine.

We recommend that you complete your own business plan, after all, no one knows your business better than you.

However, we can accept plans written by a third party, provided they are appropriately qualified.

Please note, your submitted plan doesn’t need to be perfect. Our Investment Managers will review it with you and help ensure the final version is fit for purpose before it goes to our lending panel for a final decision.

A forecast is simply your best estimate based on the information you have.

Some costs, like rent, rates, and utilities, are easier to predict. Sales figures can be harder, but your research into the market and customer demand should help you estimate these.

Once you start trading, you’ll be able to update your forecast based on real figures.

You can download our business plan template which includes a forecast template to help you get started, but we’re happy to accept forecasts in any format.

Yes, absolutely.

You don’t need to have savings or capital to apply for a loan with us. We’re here to help businesses access the funding they need to get started or grow.

We will consider all applications from individuals with a poor credit history, including those who are discharged bankrupts. All applicants should declare any CCJ's or bankruptcies on the application form.
